Caregivers can easily lose their identity in caring for that loved one—and it becomes hard to speak from their own hearts, pain, anger, frustration, and sadness.
Losing one’s identity is the first step on a downward spiral for a caregiver. I’ve got thirty years of experience to support that statement. That’s why I spend so much time on this issue for my fellow caregivers.
Playing the song without the melody doesn’t properly convey the song. A caregiver floundering in identity loss, doesn’t properly convey the needs and anguish of the heart.
Check out the video below to hear the story of my sitting at the piano one day and having a “teachable moment” for my need to re-learn the melody.
I found my melody. Have you found yours?
If not, today’s a good day to start.

Standing With Hope
If even lifeless instruments, such as the flute or the harp, do not give distinct notes, how will anyone know what is played? 1 Corinthians 14:7
