Peter and Gracie will touch your heart and have you laughing, crying, and applauding at the same time.–Jeff FoxworthyWeaving their outrageous humor and insights, along with their powerful musical performances, Peter and Gracie continue to inspire, challenge, and enthrall audiences across the country.…An unforgettable couple.
…A glimpse of God’s great compassion and lovingkindness.
…Two lives equipping others continue standing with hope.
Peter and Gracie Rosenberger know the pain of loss and shattered dreams. Gracie’s devastating car accident that led to more than six-dozen surgeries and the amputation of both of her legs has deeply affected their lives in profound ways, and both Gracie and Peter have faced hard realities within themselves and their family as they have forged a relationship and raised their two sons, Parker and Grayson. As they address life’s heartaches and disappointments honestly and directly, but full of hope, audiences feel encouraged and understood …and begin to believe survival is possible, as they see that God is working in all things with mercy, love, and purpose. Performing publicly since children, their formal studies as music majors helped shape the powerful musical combination that brings audiences to their feet across the country. In addition to performing at the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York, Gracie has also performed for President George W. Bush, as well as dozens of US Senators and governors. In a state known for music, Gracie was the only singer, and first ever individual with a disability, invited to perform at the 2003 inauguration of Tennessee’s Governor.
But the couple counts as one of their most moving invitations the request by the commander of Walter Reed Army Medical Center for Gracie to perform at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new amputee-training center for military personnel experiencing limb-loss.Gracie and Peter clearly understand the need for quality prosthetics, and that understanding led them to found Standing With Hope, an evangelical, non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the needs of amputees in developing countries. Recognizing the lifetime commitment of caring for an amputee, their focus is on training local workers in targeted countries and building an infrastructure to maintain services and treat large numbers of amputees on an ongoing basis.
Anyone who has the opportunity should hear and see Gracie and Peter Rosenberger. Close your eyes and listen to them and you will find Gracie’s voice and Peter’s keyboard playing as smooth and soothing as anyone, anywhere. Then open your eyes and look at them and it will be obvious that this is their ministry. It can touch anyone. But to the amputees and wounded warriors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Gracie – a bi-lateral amputee herself – resonates and connects in a unique and special way.”
