Peter Rosenberger

Peter Rosenberger is the president of Standing With Hope.

In addition to his leadership and responsibilities at advancing Standing With Hope’s mission, Peter also serves as Gracie’s primary caregiver for more than twenty-five years.  During that time, Peter’s accomplishments are staggering:

  • He’s managed Gracie’s nearly $9,000,000 in health care costs through her seventy-plus operations (all paid for without any help from the federal government or third party lawsuits. ) At the end of every year, Peter ensures a zero balance on all costs.  The vast majority of this has been done on an average annual family income of less than $70,000.
  • Although Gracie is considered uninsurable, Peter has changed polices on her 6 times  …without even an hour’s gap in coverage.
  • Worked with more than fifty physicians
  • Cared for Gracie in 12 different hospitals (6 of them inpatient)
  • Never lost an insurance appeal.

Peter often laughs that he’s waiting for the phone call from Washington to invite him to help address American’s health care issues …but the phone never rings!

Peter has an extensive media, speaking, and writing history where he covers these issues and more.  In addition to his lengthy list of published articles, he wrote Gracie’s book (the first husband to partner with a spouse in such a way) and he is currently working on his next book which targets caregivers.

He’s also quite the comedian, and he weaves his wacky sense of humor into the very painful issues of chronic illness, caregiving, and suffering ….to keep audiences laughing (often explosively!) across the country. When people understand that it’s OK to laugh a little …even while struggling, it makes the journey just a little easier.

Take a look at some quotes about Peter:

“As a writer, Peter’s very gifted …Oh, this about his humor?    Well …as writer, Peter is very gifted.” Peter’s mom.

“Peter has great hair.    I think it’s store-bought.”   Peter’s BALD pastor (who regularly repents of his envy of Peter’s hair.)

“You married him because he makes you laugh!” Kathie Lee Gifford to Gracie.

”Funny? No, I don’t think funny is the right word. I feel ‘borderline comic disorder’ is more appropriate in this case.“Peter’s therapist (speaking of which …how do YOU feel about your parents?)

“I’d horse-whip him …if I had a horse!” Groucho Marx.

”I know God loves Peter Rosenberger. That inspires me, because knowing Peter the way I do …it makes me feel like I have a chance, too.”  Jeff Foxworthy
